Bio
When she was thirteen, Ashley Matte locked herself in her bedroom and taught herself to play the guitar. While her smooth bluesy sounds are deeply influenced by her favorites, Sarah McLachlan, Bonnie Raitt, and John Mayer, Ashley has developed her own uniqueness for performing and a talent for songwriting.
Ashley’s music is poetic and inspired by her Southern roots that give a little soulful influence, making it a sound that allows fans to connect. Nashville tradition, coffeehouse intimacy, and emotionally mature pop sounds are all trademarks of Ashley Matte. Anyone who loves melodic guitar riffs and a passionate voice will be instantly pleased.
When she moved to San Diego nearly 6 years ago, Ashley began playing immediately at local venues in Pacific Beach and popular places downtown. She quickly gathered a strong following for her music and as a result, Coach House Records made her an offer she could not refuse--her very own record deal. Since finishing her album "Colors" which has been sold in stores nation-wide, Ashley has shared the stage with national acts such as The Fray, Gavin Degraw, Chris Isaak, Dishwalla, Dave Matthews Band and Linda Perry. She has also shared her music with many charities to help fund community programs needed throughout southern California. Ashley just recently released her second studio record, “No Number No Address.”
